I just got a report this weekend (a “thank you” to Erik Osbun) that there are some errors in certain of the Minev game files that cause selected games to not be viewable. I’m working on finding and correcting the errors, but after an initial look, the exact location of the error is not obvious.
The problem results when the game score contains characters that the My Chess Viewer software does not recognize. If the user attempts to load the game in the Viewer, the game header info changes to the game with the mistake, but the game moves do not change from the last game loaded. The new game will not load.
I’ve gone through the games in the Minev Best Games file and believe that only the games vs. Szabo, Botvinnik, and Fischer have this problem. The rest should be OK. I am working on fixing the scores, and will post a corrected file as soon as I can (but it may take a while).
It will take even longer to go through the Minev All Games file to see if there are problems there.
In the meantime, be aware that if the game score does not load, that is the source of the problem. If you would like to see the game score of any game before the fix is posted, just email me with the info of the game you are interested in.

A few quick updates:
1) I expect to be posting the next installment from Minev (Mini-Lessons from Short Games of the 21st Century) in the next few days
2) I should have more tournament crosstables to post soon (primariy 1920s and 30s - more conversions of the files courtesy of C. Sericano)
3) I have been using a new tool for name standardization on the crosstables. It makes it easier for me to consistently apply the same spelling, as well as to ensure that full names (first + last) are used in most cases. Saves me having to check Gaige for every name in every crosstables. Easier for me = less chance of error = better results posted (and easier searches for player events). A win for all!
4) In between everything else, I’m working on some new Minev manuscripts. Probably still some months away from publication, but more books are coming eventually!
